The Haverhill Trails Committee (HTC) was created in 1993 as a result of a project - the creation of the Merrimack River Trail. The HTC continues to thrive today. The goal of the HTC is to create, maintain and enhance the City's hiking trails network, not only along the Merrimack River, but throughout the 36 square miles of woods, fields and shores of Haverhill.
Members of the HTC are all volunteers and Haverhill residency is not a requirement. The group also organizes many fun activities such as hikes, x-country skiing, social events and day trips.
Trail work activities are scheduled throughout the year, and the work session usually lasts a few hours. Sometimes the HTC works with other groups, such as the Haverhill Lakes Alliance or Haverhill's Brightside.
Meetings are typically held the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm at the Tattersall Farm, 542 North Broadway.
