Statement:
The mission of Human Services through its various divisions is to provide educational and innovative programming and services to the citizens of Haverhill while enhancing their quality of life.

Municipal facilities:

  • Citizens Center
    A multi-purpose facility that houses the Department of Human Services Divisions. Primarily used during the day for Council on Aging activities, while rented out to public and private groups during the evenings and weekends. The facility includes office space, two conference rooms, kitchen and cafeteria, ceramics room, billiards room, exercise room, dark room, woodworking shop, and com activities, programs, community involvement, and various other opportunities to its members.  Contact Wendy Farewell for availability and rates at ext. 19 or wfarewell@cityofhaverhill.com.

  • Clement Farm Disc Golf Course
    Located near the Atkinson, NH border, this facility offers a unique and popular experience to all Disc Golfers. While very approachable, the course still has features designed to challenge even the most advanced players of the game. small lockers are available on site and the course map is available via UDisc.com and is posted at the first tee. Parking is limited and it is recommended to park in the meadow nearby the Hole 1.   
  • Plugs Pond (Lake Saltonstall) Swimming & Picnic Area
    A lakefront facility operated seasonally by the Recreation Department. The facility includes a bathhouse, boathouse, and a boat ramp. Soon there will also be a playground, shade structures, and a misting tower. Trail heads open year round connect to the extensive network of trails at Winnekenni Park. Other programs include annual fishing derbies and Native American Pow-Wow.

  • Veteran's Memorial Skating Rink
    A state-owned facility managed by the city of Haverhill. Provides programming which includes high school hockey, youth hockey, figure skating club, public skating and Special Olympics programs.

  • Winnekenni Park
    One of Haverhill's most picturesque parks. Facility includes three tennis courts, playground, bathroom facility, walking track, fishing area, sledding and tobogganing area, and tot-lot area.

  • Riverside Park
    A multi-purpose park that includes 5 baseball diamonds, 5 softball diamonds, mile-long walking path,  bathroom facilities, 3 basketball courts, street hockey area, playground, carry-top boat ramp, 2 tot-lots, 1 handicapped swing set, 2 parking lots, 2 horseshoe pits, and coming soon there will be 4 Pickleball courts and Outdoor Fitness equipment.
