Auxiliary History

Since 1940, the men and women of the Haverhill Auxiliary Police Department have been serving the city of Haverhill in variety of ways.  Auxiliary Officers patrol Haverhill’s parks, city properties, assist with natural disasters, provide traffic assistenace around fires and motor vehicle crashes and help out in many other ways as needed.  Officers provide manpower for all walk-a-thons, road races, parades, and special events held in Haverhill and occasionally the neighboring communities. Lastly, our officers have the opportunity to attend the Reserve Officer Police Academy provided through the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee at one of their regional academy locations in Massachusetts. Whether academy trained or not, all officers receive both real world and online training so they are prepared to meet the demands of the Haverhill Police Department.

Have you ever asked yourself, what can I do to improve my community? The Haverhill Auxiliary Police Department is looking for a few good people to carry on the tradition.
