The City of Haverhill will have all marriage certificates for anyone who applied for a marriage license in the City of Haverhill, regardless of which city/town they were married in. One may come to the Office in person from 8am to 4pm to request this record, or may request the record by mail or online.
Records are $10 per copy in person and $15 per copy via the mail. Records that are over 100 years old (1923 or older) are considered genealogical requests and the search fee ($10 per record in person/$15 per record via the mail) is non-refundable. If the record is located, the search cost does cover the cost of one record.
How can I get a certified copy of a Marriage Certificate?
1. In Person. The cost is $10 per copy (all forms of payment accepted except American Express). It takes about 5 minutes. We are open 8 am to 4pm Monday-Friday.
2. Electronic Request. Electronic Request. The cost is $15 per copy (no extra charge if using ACH, processing fee of approve. $2.50 if using a credit card). We process these requests within a couple of days.
3. By Mail. The cost is $15 per copy, please make a check payable to the "City of Haverhill." Mail your request along with payment and a self-addressed pre stamped envelope to the "City Clerk's Office, 4 Summer St, Haverhill, MA 01830." We process these requests within a couple of days.
